The Grapevine Discount Card was created in 2011 as a branch of the Grapevine Communities, a group of locally owned and operated web communities that believe in the "Shop Local, Buy Local" philosophy. A simple internet search will show you thousands of pages citing the benefits of shopping locally…..but you and I already understand this.
Together we can all realize the local benefits, to the consumer and the businesses, of shopping and buying locally.
Offering consumers a discount has long been the standard of getting consumers to spend dollars with local merchants. Traditional advertising has always placed the burden of telling consumers about this discount on the shoulders of the local business owner. The Grapevine Discount Card was created due to the hard economic times that have caused the collapse of too many small businesses that just could no longer afford to advertise. By allowing, and rewarding, the local consumers to help these small business owners absorb the cost of advertising, everyone in the community wins! |
